My first leibster award.

My first ever leibster award.

Leibster is a german word meaning pleasant, precious or valuable. I feel honoured to get nominated for this award by Himanshu Sisodia. He has got an amazing blog with beautiful Sunday scenic shots and not to forget true to word reviews. Her go check out his blog at inspirehigh

My thanks to my blogger friends who have always encouraged me to write and express what I always thought of. Thank a lot to you people for being there. You all are simply amazing. I had never thought I would get this sort of response and truth be told, I feel honoured.

So here goes the rules for the Liebster Award:

  • Acknowledge the blog/s who nominated you and display the award
  • Answer the eleven question that the blogger gives you
  • List 11 random facts about yourself
  • Nominate up to eleven other blogs that you think are deserving of this award (with less than 200 followers)
  • Let the bloggers know you have nominated them
  • Give them 11 questions to answer

Here are the eleven questions Himanshu Sir had for me:

What is your Favorite Food and Why?

My favourite food is anything that is home cooked. These two years of living in a hostel has given me a new found appreciation of home food and its luxuries.

Who motivates you to write?

Often when introverts look around they realise that the world is full of people trying to give their two cent advice on anything beneath the sun. And amidst this chaos of chatter with no content, artists often find ways to explore ways to express, be it dancing, singing, painting, theatre or writing. Just the realisation that there are not enough people around to listen then papers lend you power to speak to millions, maybe that is what drives me to write.

Tell us the Craziest thing that you ever did?

The craziest thing that I have done, it is hard to decide to say which one. Does shouting UFO UFO with two friends at night on a road with just a handful of people count as crazy.
Well once I also had a lengthy discussion with a wrong number on three o clock in the morning as to who supplies underwears to mowgli in the jungle and why does melody taste so chocolaty. The former was asked by him the later by me. It was a funny day.

What is your Favorite Movie and Genre?

My favourite movie would be Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio, directed by Christopher Nolan. The Genre I prefer is Action, Adventure and fantasy. Not to forget Sci-fic.

What is your Favorite Destination to Travel and why?

I love traveling and I have been lucky enough to travel a bit, see a few places and if someone expects me to choose a specific place out of all those then it is just not possible. How does one choose between the flaxen jeweled spanning desert and the white foams like cajoling blankets of the endless ocean.

What made you start Blogging?

An innate desire to write, to express, to know people who do not know my story and won’t be biased. People who would know me for my writings. Writing to me is passion and blogging helps me take my passion to new levels.

What is your Favorite Cartoon Show or Cartoon Movie?

My favourite cartoon show is Tom and Jerry and Courage the cowardly dog.

Do you believe in Destiny?

I have no inkling of an idea if destiny exists. All I know is that everything happens for a reason. The steps we take give us consequences and we are never left out from the result of our actions. Everything has a beginning and an end and maybe both of them are undetermined depending solely on us. Maybe it is destiny maybe it is not. I guess I will never know.

What are the things you like and don’t like about yourself?

What I like about me is my determination to do what I feel is right amidst any sort of situation. And what I don’t like about me is that I procrastinate till the last moment to do things that are long due.

Which form of Blogging (Micro-blogging, Video Blogging or the Classic Original) you
 think is best?

Different blogging is great for different kinds of people. For me Classic Original blogging works best. It gives me the way in which I like to express my words.

Do you think that turning your Hobby into your Profession is a Good Idea?

Turning Hobbies into profession is a great idea till the moment the hobby has enough potential to keep you going. For me my hobby is writing and performing written pieces and no I don’t want it as a profession. I want my profession to be in the field as a civil servant. So it is an amazing idea, just not the one for me.

Yours truly

Akanksha Krishnatre

P.S I did an amazing happy dance after getting nominated. The dance consisted of me flapping around like a headless chicken from one furniture to another.

6 Months.

Six months, Six complete months and now once again back to my home town, even though just for mere 8 days but these 8 days mean a lot. Durga puja has started and it feels good to go back to family on this pious occasion. A beautiful festival, celebrating the strength of women hood depicted in the holy yet humane sculpture of beautiful Ma Durga. What more is needed for a family but the visit of their daughter. I am excited to see their faces. I missed everyone, being the kind of person I am, I do not get homesick but the mere rememberance of grandpa is more than enough motivation for me to just go as the moment has arisen.

My friends called, they want to meet. It will be good to catch up with them and just know what is happening in my hometown. I will visit my old school and teachers. I know it has only been Six months but you can only imagine what a girl about to turn 16, in the Indian culture, not accustomed to living in a lodge ( which she has wonderful and not so surprisingly adjusted to) will feel returning home.

Right now I am in the train which will take me after 15 hours to My city. Outside the black wings of darkness has engulfed the surrounding. Out of the open window nothing but a black abyss can be seen. Fellow readers I am happy beyond limit, I just hope that for you everything is turning out for the best.

Anyway I will say good night cause the clock is striking 9:30 and I am exhausted from packing and moving and shifting and repeating the process from 2 days. So good night, sweet dreams and may this festive season give you all the best of seasons greetings.

The real tragedy.

A child can be forgiven
As he crouches in a corner
Afraid of blinding darkness.       It has the age                                   and the pure sacred innocence
To be afraid ,
To dream the dreams of monsters
With bared fangs and gleaming eyes
Waiting in the murky shadows
To pounce upon his little self.

Unknown to the rituals of the world

He is allowed to cry
As tears fall without light
and fear sets in his eyes.

But the real tragedy

Of the world so vast
Is when men are afraid of the gloom
Known to the illusion of beasts
And the writer of such stories.
They cower with fear tucked inside.

A twisted metaphor
The irony burning bright
When the musicians of screams
Get deaf with yodelling noise.

The tragic tale of sapiens

bruised in heart and mind.
Planting the little seeds
That one day will grow
To cover the sky.
And then when blaze won’t be seen
And warmth not felt.
Then the people in streets
Lounging in bliss
Will then together say
They are afraid without light.

The children are forgiven
for they are innocent in motive
unknown to the cruelty
the gloaming has to offer.
The terror among hearts,
Like beautiful playgrounds in the dark
with blood and gore
flesh and bones
guns and death
that symbolise the inequity
As the blazing bloom of black.

As one prefers to say
The dark as a criminal mark
It is like a twisted form of truth
For now the devils are afraid of the dark.

My guide

Dearest Papa

Where shall I begin? Why not from the beginning. From the exact moment of time my conscience kicked into action and I can remember,  I know and I am aware of the fact that I was and I am proud to have you as my father. You know how to laugh insanely with me at my not-so-funny incidents , and you also are aware of the way to control the rage that I have , fueled directly from hell.

You , being the bibliophile you are , casted the precious ailment to me and made me a bookworm too. I cannot thank you enough for showing me the path to living different lives over and over again through words encrypted upon pages. Good lord! Now that I think about it , you were the one who always made sure that I was never short on classic novels.

You spoile me in an educational manner, in a way that I now can hold my ground and not let anyone trample upon my works. You make me confident of my potential to achieve. You made sure that my world was not only based upon books but I also had a firm grasp of school. Due to you today I even hold a  good result and abundance of knowledge, which when compared to you is still very less.

You remind me that I am a leader at heart. A teenager with enough courage to give her thoughts a strong voice , and I am grateful for that reminder. You were the reason I stood for the selection of House captain at my school ,and as you had foretold I became one. You know my future more than I have planned it.

Sometimes through the years I have heard you say ,that in me you see your own reflection. And take note of my words dear Dad ,that at that moment I could not be more proud of myself.

You , due to your drive towards history and literature,  often write and you were the first person to push me in the field of blank pages, pen, Ink and ideas . And now that through years I have grown and hold a much better understanding of the concept of writing , I remember that you were the one to hear my first work of poetry and with uncontained joy proclaimed that I could be a very strong and powerful poet. I know from looking back that my first poem was quite childish with attempted rhyme scenes ,written in the age of 9, yet you showed belief in me from the start.

Papa, for being my ideal, the person I believe in, the one I aspire to be like, whose dream I strive to fulfill. I would just simply like to thank you for everything. Be it the late night debates on writers or the heated discussion regarding economy or simply a combined view regarding politics or two different thoughts about a story. Whatever be it , you helped me grow in to the person that I today am.

You helped me develop in fields once beyond my comprehension, like a knowledgeable citizen of a developing country . You dear Dad, made me more of an individual than a person. So simply Thank you .

Result and colours

A few days ago on 28th May 2016 the awesome CBSE (please note my sarcasm here) finally declared the result of class 10th  ,for which I was waiting from 2 months and 9 days  to be accurate. My heart was beating on top gear , all confused whether I will get 9.6 or 9.8, for to be true 10.0 seemed a hope even after much hard work. So note my surprise when during my biology class in my coaching , Mam enters to tell that results are out and I achieved 10 CGPA.
For all the people out there, who are unaware about CBSE grading system ,all I can tell you is that this post won’t be able to sum the complexity of the system.  Please understand students are graded based on their performance on a scale of 1.0 point to 10.0 point. 10 CGPA denotes best performance.  Now I was directly selected in the top school of the state in which I have shifted to.
The result announcement seemed like a mixture of chaos and havoc ,with smiles and sweets  along with tears and frowns. The school will start from 22nd of June.  I have few days in my hand to get ready for School. My happiness knows no bound as I am waiting for the upcoming events to unfold.
Days are passing , simply mixing with each other with nothing to point out the difference between them.  Hoping for the best leads to best. For all the great fellow Indian students out there who have just got the result of class 10th. If your result turned out to be as your hope , then boatload of congratulations,  and if , Mark my words, if the result did not turn out to be as you hoped. Do not fret for the result of class 10th does not have much importance and no impact on your upcoming life. I agree there was once a time when class 10th known as Matric had a great importance in the life students , but now no longer that is the case, but yes I won’t deny that scoring good in 10th band 12th is quite important. So see your result , be stress free , just strive to do great in future , and do not be pressurised under any condition.

Now fellow bloggers out there be happy , be safe and stay tuned with this annoying clumsy little bibliophile Akanksha Krishnatre.

P.S : The dress code for school is just beyond awesome.

Akanksha Krishnatre.

Something to say.

Dearest Mom,

I do not know what to say to you, for words and a day is very less to define what you mean to me. You are the world , the guide, the perfect friend who just understands you, just a look is enough to convey ocean deep stories and sky high emotion, no words are ever needed.

My keeper , you are the one who looks after me when I am knee deep in confusion. You are the one who has confidence in me , when I myself can only convey doubt. Thank you for understanding me better than I ever understood myself.

I have great dreams for my future and I know by the name of good lord that I wouldn’t have even thought of reaching the end line if you hadn’t been there pushing me forward to achieve it. Thank you for being the support that I needed when I was down. The kick to my senses , when I felt stupid. The boost of perfect ebullience ,when I was lazy . Thank you for reminding me of the innocence that lies within everyone.

I am no Shakespeare,  but yes I can tell you that I love you more than Cordelia could ever love King Lear.
The dew is pure as it falls on petals , glistening and sparkling a hundred stars , but I love you beyond that. I won’t say that you are perfect, for no body is , but as close a person can come to perfection ,you are steps ahead of that.

I adore you for your patience,  for you go through day to day hearing complains , seeing frowns , angry words , and annoyed huffed up people , yet each time I come to you asking for advice , or just trivial things like tying my hair, you are always there with a sincere smile on your face that reaches your bright eyes.

Mom, You are the reflection of Wow , a word that inspires wonder and lights eyes on incandescent fire. You helped me become who I am , and for that I will be eternally grateful to you.

Your annoying little daughter

A Happy birthday letter to Shakespeare

Wordsmith colony
Teenage lane
India

23 April 2016

English writers block
Gate 1616- Dramatist’s paradise
Heaven.

Respected Shakespeare Sir,

Again, I am here at your service to provide you with information regarding the, tangled mess of people, that is the society. But before I move to those not-so-pressing matters, let me ask after your health and happiness. After my last letter I hope everything regarding you has taken a turn towards the best. Now let’s discuss some matters that can’t be neglected.

So Sir before anything else let me wish you a grand, magnificent and full of grandiose birthday. May your fame succeed you in all the next generations to come. Now I remember that your unfortunate death also took place at this same day ,but considering the fact that I am a mere teenager writing a letter to you, that seems like a taboo topic to talk about. Let’s move to something more cheerful that lightens the mood and creates an aura of bliss.

I assure you respected sir , that the reason behind my being late in writing this letter today is not my forgetfulness, but my hesitancy to write. Sir I realise that it will seem like a poor excuse to you, the greatest dramatist of all time, but I assure you that to a budding poet like me , the hesitancy of writing to you was more hard to overcome than a writers block. But it doesn’t matter any longer. Here I am writing to you.

Sir, now about the homo sapiens. Human society is just moving forward slowly and steadily on the cycle of rise and fall. Nothing out of ordinary about them. As you portrayed the assaisan of Caesar by the hands of Cassius,  Brutus and other conspirators, I assure you respected sir , the same is going on with every part of society , where each and every man looks out for his or her own benefit.

Respected Shakespeare Sir,  Do not worry about the society,  even though they pave their own fall , yet do not worry about them , for they will learn with your guidance and in the end they will understand their mistakes. But that’s not what I am writing to you about.

Sir , I am writing this letter to ask about the feast that took place in heaven to celebrate your birthday. Do give me account regarding it. Here on earth we the literature feeding , bookworms,  bibliophile, bookmaniac and your epic fan teenagers, adults and older people definitely celebrated your birthday. Enjoy your ultimate day.

Respected Shakespeare Sir, through your vivid views on everything,  I hope your view about birthday’s in general is  a great one, for I love them no doubt. With cakes and candles and sweets and joy nothing more is needed.

Sir, I now see that I have said a numerous things that do not make much sense and rest assured definitely I will give the excuse of sleepy eyes and confused head at midnight. I hope you won’t mind. I will again write to you when I feel like it , Until then Adieu . Do shower your dramatic blessings on me and give my sincere respect to Sir G.B.Shaw , Sir
Ben Johnson , Sir .Samuel Beckett , Sir Arthur Miller and the whole crew.
Do write if possible,
If impossible
Write all the same.

Yours faithful young wordsmith
Akanksha Krishnatre.

P.S. Have an incandescent birthday blast.
